The Document Verification Service (DVS) takes the biographical information from the provided identity documents and checks it against the issuing organisations records to ensure they match giving you piece of mind that your customers are who they say they are. In the case of Driver Licenses the DVS checks the information with the National Exchange of Vehicle and Driver Information System managed by Ausroads Ltd.
While CrimCheck mostly works with business looking for ongoing match requests CrimCheck also offers induvial the ability to perform their own match request. As individuals cannot directly use the DVSthey must instead make use of an accredited Gateway Service Provider such as CrimCheck who can submit the request for them. CrimCheckis a Gateway Service Provider (GSP) and can send matching requests and receive results.
As part of the CrimCheck service they offer an online portal which can be used to monitorpending match requests and invite new customers to complete their own, all from the comfort of their own home. CrimCheck’s online portal means that all applications can be done and monitored over the internet with no in person meetings required.
Training in the use of the portal is offered free of charge as well as ongoing customer support to ensure that you get the most out the service as possible.

What documents can be checked by the DVS? - the DVS can check a wide variety of documents including Medcare cards, Birth Certificates and DriverLicenses. For the full list check the IDMatch website https://dvsstatus.idmatch.gov.au/

Does CrimCheck provide face verification services? - CrimCheck does not have access to the Face Verification Service as it is currently only available to Government Agencies
Where is the Data Stored? - data is only kept by the agency that issued the documents. While the check is being performed the data is stored in ‘Hubs’ which ensure the data cannot be viewed or modified the data is kept in these hubs for the minimum period as required under the law.
What do the results look like? - Generally, the response will either be a yes or a no telling you if the documents are matching or not. In rare cases further documents may be required
How Long Does it take to get a Result – it normally takes seconds to return a result from the DVS.
Will the Match Results include any Criminal History Results? - No, the matched result will only say if the information on your identity documents matches the original record. It proves you are who you say you are.
